More Pics from Eli's 1st Bday!!

Eli's 1st Bday Party!! :)

I still can't believe my little "butterbean" is 1 year old!!! Thinking about this makes me seriously want to sit down and have a good cry with a BIG box of tissues!!! Everyone has told me all year, "Heather enjoy all these little moments", "Heather capture everything you can, take it all in it's gonna fly by!!" I would always politely say "sure, sure", "I am", or "I will" ......never did I stop and think they would be RIGHT!!!! Here I sit looking at photos from earlier blogs when my child was just a itty bitty (well technically mr.eli has never been "itty bitty") but you know what I mean....I look at these photos of him at 2 months, or 6 months and now I see photos of him at 1 year walking.........almost running.......... and those comments come back to my mind, the ones I didn't really take in when they were told......but they were absolutely right.....these moments FLY BY much to quickly!! There was a time when I could cradle my sweet boy in my arms and watch him sleep for hours, now you can forget holding him like a baby, he wants to be held like a little man :( There was also a time when he was small enough (and still enough) for me to prop him up against my thighs while I layed in the bed and I could coo at him and watch a mile wide smile form across his face....I could say "maaammmmaaammmaaa" and watch him move his little mouth in such a way that would make me believe he was honestly trying to say momma! I LOVED looking at the baby section ANYWHERE we went, especially walmart, they have the cutest baby clothes that are great prices because every reasonable momma knows your child doesn't have to be decked out in the name brand clothes ALL the time!! I loved being able to look at all these things... all the cheap little onesies that said "Santa's little helper" or "My 1st Thanksgiving" or "Dont make me call my nana" they were SO much fun to buy!! And now I find myself in the toddler section picking out little boy clothes, no more onesies just tops and bottoms! Although they are still cute and funny they are much larger than what I was used to buying and much more "boyish" instead of "babyish"!! I never realized how bad I'd miss that 1st baby car seat...one that you could tow anywhere, in a booth at a restaurant, in a buggy at walmart, you could tote it wherever your heart desired easily so that you didn't have to wake up your sleepy child.....well those days are gone, it's on to the big boy seat....where he's facing forward laughing at mommie while she sings aloud and turns that big interesting looking circle! No more taking it out of the car, it's strapped in there for good! It's also ready to be turned into a booster seat when he's ready, then when he graduates from that he can just sit himself in the car independately and buckle himself up....well I say..... I'm not ready for all this!!! I wish I could keep him my sweet little baby forever!!! :) I hope that some young new mother is going to come across my blog and read this and if you do I say PLEASE cherish all these "1sts" all those smiles, coos, stares, cries, babbles, poops, bottles, foods, just EVERYTHING....because hunny in a few more months you're gonna need that BIG box of tissues as well!!! Eli's birthday was August 18th, we had his party that Saturday...it was such an amazing day and he enjoyed every bit of it! I wanted it to be HUGE but quickly realized I shouldn't overwhelm him with people all in his face for hours, it was much easier to just have a small lunch with family and a few friends at our church social hall. Of course the theme was Sesame Street, my little man cannot get enough of those crazy puppets.......and yes mommie and daddy strutted our SS attire, because you know we are cool "RENTS" like that ;))) Teri Day made our cake and I must say that girl has MAD SKILLZ!!! I gave her a picture to go by and she made the cake BETTER than the picture! His 1st bday cake was important to me....I wanted something big and then him to have his own smash cake...you can say I might have went a little obsessive over it but hey, it was my boys 1st bday cake!!! So if you need a cake I'm telling you Teri Day is where it's at, and she's super sweet as well!!! This birthday was truly amazing for Eli and I feel so blessed to have been able to give him such a special day!! :0)
